Red Wax Seal

What is the Purpose of the Red Wax Seal here in Australia?

I understand when dealing with expensive items the owner of the envelope and goods contained within it can have a Legal Entity apply a Red Wax Seal to the envelope.

I understand there is a Legal requirement to have a witness when opening an envelope that has a Red Wax Seal applied.

I do not believe there a data base or record of envelopes that have been sealed in this manner in Australia?

What are the consequences if the Red Wax Seal is incorrectly broken?

Although I am not a Police Officer, perhaps there are other ways to catch the Thieves.

It is known Thieves keep momentous.

If Stolen an envelope with a broken Unique Red Wax Seal may be stored as a momentous.

History has shown that if found the envelope could be forensically analysed.

When envelopes are enclosed with a Red Wax Seal they appear to be a Legal Document.
Red Wax Seals are Authorised by a Legal Entity.
